PIF Regatta 2012

The GroupGSA team achieved a very creditable 3rd Place, Division 4 in the 2012 PIF Charity Regatta. Our amateur crew was whipped into shape by skipper Arthur Psaltis who very kindly donated the use of his yacht “Into the Mystic”.

Starting from the Cruising Yacht Club at Rushcutters Bay there was just enough time for a quick training session from Arthur and a bite of lunch before the race start at 1pm. Despite some lack of clarity about the course, we soon realised we were in with a real chance and there was some serious sailing required.

The Regatta finished with a Beach Party at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club, where several hundred members of the property industry were able to relax after an unaccustomed hard day’s sailing. GroupGSA’s Kelly Scoot was also there volunteering at the event and selling raffle tickets.

Thanks to our guests Ric Modesto, Greg Carmichael, Rob Bruce and Richard Carmont for some great sailing and helping to make the 2012 Regatta a fantastic day. The crew also included Mark Sheldon, Michael Mandl, Graeme Hadenham, Mark Thebridge, Cate Cowlishaw and Michaela O’Leary from GroupGSA.

The Property Industry Foundation Regatta is an annual event raising money to help young people at risk.
