We are a multi-disciplinary design practice
As architects, we understand great design needs to be in harmony with its surroundings and users. We strive to make a positive impact on a building‘s occupants and the larger community it serves. Each project, small or large, has its own set of unique characteristics and challenges. As architects and designers we are problem solvers; finding creative solutions to our clients' challenges. We bring our collective experience across many sectors to workshop and bring innovative solutions at the project initiation stage, ensuring that the design vision is fully developed.
We believe an inherent interest in, and understanding of people, their needs and aspirations, is the essence of exceptional design. We invest time to nurture relationships with our clients. This is to understand their operational, functional and cultural needs; creating interior environments that are a true reflection of their values. Our design portfolio encompasses workplace, hospitality, retail, residential and public work. Our accomplished and highly skilled team creates sophisticated interiors that convey character, improve well-being and heighten business performance. We love our work and thrive on developing ideas which help achieve our clients' vision.
Urban design is the art of making meaningful places for people. We approach each project as an opportunity to improve the livability of cities, towns and villages. Successful places foster community interaction and understanding, and enable economic activity. We strive to reveal and create the potential of a place to delight a community, and nurture its social and environmental vitality. GroupGSA’s urban design and master planning expertise is integral to our Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design practice. We deliver innovative design solutions that are profound responses to client needs and aspirations.
Our Landscape studio provides a holistic and integrated approach which delivers elegant, innovative, practical and environmentally responsible landscapes. GroupGSA Landscape is an award winning practice with a substantial and diversified landscape team. We deliver responsive designs that embrace our clients' expectations, community values and environmental sustainability. The GroupGSA landscape team brings enthusiasm and expertise in areas of particular relevance to the design and documentation required. GroupGSA involves senior landscape architects in all aspects of the project tasks to ensure efficient and expert advice in a timely manner.
With a successful track record designing for a wide variety of clients, the studio team offers a combined experience of over 35 years in Graphic Design. Being an integral part of a multidisciplinary design practice, the team is most familiar with the key components that form a brand’s toolbox across various built environments, in the form of wayfinding and signage to digital and print media that create lasting impressions in people's minds. With a greater understanding of the complexities of how people respond to their environments and the desired customer experience, the GroupGSA graphic design studio builds brand strategies that are measurable in client loyalty and satisfaction.

Dominion Residences for adaptive Re-Use Medium Density Development
Dominion Residences is a thoughtfully articulated residential development located in Sydney’s Darlinghurst. It features two heritage and three new buildings with a total of 109 one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Its resounding expression is the integration of its heritage narrative into both the architectural and landscape fabrics. Integrations such as salvaged timber, found architectural elements and a series of narrative works serve to connect the old and the new and give Dominion a strong sense of place, while ultimately respecting the history of the site. The project brief was to design a unique residential environment that sensitively responded to the heritage context. Preserving and integrating the heritage buildings, sandstone street walls and gardens was a key aspect of the brief and one that set clear parameters and challenges for the design. At street level, the heritage precinct has been reflected at the base of the new buildings where solid facades provide a tactile and pedestrian friendly environment.
Winner 2015 - AILA NSW Landscape Architecture Award
Wylde Mountain Bike Trail
This project had a special mix of design challenges that were responded to with vigour and empathy. The influence of the landscape architect is evident at both a detailed and large scale. The collaboration of an unusual mix of consultants and client resulted in careful site selection that considered topography, access, surrounding land uses and existing infrastructure. The spatial layout of this specialised sports facility has been designed for flexibility. It can cope with both large and small volumes of users, a range of users and alternative purposes.
Winner 2012 - Australian Timber Design Awards
The Credit Suisse Gateway site is synonymous with the organisation’s local history and brand profile. The location and outlook were key attributes that shaped the personality and character of the project. The prime design and planning objectives were to optimise the light and outlook to enhance the general amenity of the environment. This translated to a migration away from the formalised office culture to greater space efficiency, openness and flexibility that will allow simpler changes in the future.

"GroupGSA were the building and landscape architect for our flagship home, Greenwood, at Normanhurst NSW. Lisa-Maree and her team created an outstanding building that fitted into the local environment but functions as a five star hotel. The design was exquisite and of the highest standard whilst still meeting the budget set early in the project. Almost all first time visitors to the home comment that they had no idea that aged care could look like this! We have since used GroupGSA to document a development application for another outstanding RACF in Brisbane."
