Willis Sydney was determined to be more connected to its three teams: Willis Re, Willis State and Willis National. A celebration of culture, clients and Women in Willis needed to ﬁnd its way into Willis’s new space.
The space needed to reﬂ ect the Willis global brand which is understated with gravitas. All open plan team members are located on the perimeter making most of the excellent natural light the building provides. Everyone sits at ergonomic sit-to-stand desks supporting team member’s health. Willis’s clients and service sectors are depicted on stone in print and in timber carvings (e.g. the submarine carving).
A light palette of stone, resin and timber is featured in the space. Australian artworks and sculpture are celebrated in the reception, boardroom and meeting rooms.
Room booking tablets are placed on specially designed timber ﬂags on door frames; wall mounted iPADs control the AV and services in meeting rooms; and interactive tables support team members in the open plan (especially the mapping team).
A signiﬁ cant quantum of meetings rooms is included in the design servicing the frequent collaborations at Willis and a large staff breakout hub located in a naturally lit corner of the building, supports social interactions and informal meetings.
The overall aesthetic and atmosphere created at Willis supports the global brand well.
