Designing for wellbeing beyond the workstation

Designing for wellbeing beyond the workstation

GroupGSA partnered with Viacon Group using an integrated methodology approach to design a café, social hub, EOT with wellness facilities and office upgrades within ALDI's existing headquarters.

At GroupGSA, we understand the profound impact a well-designed café can have on a workplace environment. Our objective was to transform an under-utilised reception area into a dynamic café and social hub, creating spaces that foster social interaction, collaboration, and a sense of community.

The café features a colour scheme that creates a vibrant feel. Various seating arrangements accommodates a variety of social and collaborative interactions. This flexibility ensures that the space can adapt to the diverse needs of its users throughout the day.

Understanding the importance of connectivity, we have incorporated state-of-the-art technology to support both casual and work-related activities. High-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations, and an AV-equipped meeting area are seamlessly integrated into the design. To enhance the ambience, the design leverages natural light and incorporates indoor plants.

Our goal for the end-of-trip facilities promotes health, wellness and inclusivity. By integrating a wellness room and a multi-faith room, we aimed to provide employees with the amenities they need to recharge, reflect, and rejuvenate, enhancing their overall workplace experience. The wellness room features soft lighting, calming colours, and comfortable furnishings to create a serene atmosphere. Recognising the diverse spiritual needs of employees, the multi-faith room provides a dedicated space for prayer, meditation, and reflection, accommodating various religious practices and beliefs when required.
