Integrating street permeability in mixed-use developments fosters community inclusivity and encourages connections and social life. Boundaries between places of private living and public relaxing in such schemes are nonetheless paramount and require a well-considered approach that benefits from the collective power of an expert team.
Creatively honouring the heritage façade of the Bondi Junction RSL complex, we recognise and celebrate the positioning of this mixed-use site on the transition from the retail and commercial core of Bondi Junction to the neighbouring residential areas. The Bondi Junction RSL in located at the corner of Bronte Road and Ebley Street in Bondi Junction, approximately 6kms from the Sydney CBD. The site is a significant focal point and prominent southern gateway for the area, and our project team has ensured it will remain suitably notable and appropriate to its surrounds.
The project seeks to provide a high quality, high amenity mixed use development to the site, revitalising the streetscape as well as Club Bondi Junction RSL. The proposed two-storey podium houses several uses for the community including hospitality, retail, function rooms, and gaming, carefully considered to ensure a strong and permeable street address and a design that is modern while celebrating the historical façade elements.
The 80-apartment residential tower above provides resident enjoyment through quality fittings and fixtures, while the rooftop communal space provides residents with a pool, social and relaxation space to enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounds, including Sydney Harbour to the north and Botany Bay to the south.
