Microsoft Innovation Centre
As part of a global network of over 40 hubs, this multi-million-dollar project showcases Microsoft’s commitment to innovation and its leadership in the AI economy.
GroupGSA reimagined the workplace narrative, drawing inspiration from Australia’s iconic Figure Eight Pools to inform a dynamic spatial experience. A sculptural, undulating timber wall flows through Level 28, paired with a shimmering Rimex ceiling that evokes water movement, creating an immersive, story-led environment.
The Hub comprises three experiential zones: the Envisioning Theatre, which features curated, future-focused storytelling; the Experience Zone, a sector-specific showcase with modules for healthcare, sustainability, and retail; and the Innovation Factory, a collaborative workshop space. These zones foster hands-on engagement, enabling co-creation between clients and Microsoft experts.
Balancing creative ambition with complex site constraints, including existing infrastructure and AV integration, the project achieved a seamless, sustainable transformation. The design maximises re-use of built elements and delivers persona-led, localised experiences tailored to Australian industries.
The Sydney Innovation Hub exemplifies the fusion of architectural storytelling and technological advancement, enabling businesses to explore, prototype, and scale digital solutions in a purpose-built, adaptive environment.
