Extending the 'Green Heart' of the Robina community complex into the library's interior design
According to the City of Gold Coast site, "The library's stunning 2020 refurbishment, including new furniture, carpet, shelving, and colour scheme, creates a warm and welcoming space, contemporary yet comfy." The library opened in 2000 and quickly became a central community hub for the multi-generational and multi-cultural population.
The Gold Coast City Council hired our interior design team to revitalise the Robina Branch Library and Community Centre.
The property is part of the City of Gold Coast’s Robina community complex in the heart of Robina. The Robina town centre project transformed large land holdings in and around Robina into family-oriented gardens and parklands, envisioning a ‘Green Heart’.
Our concept for the library refurbishment was to extend the parkland environment into the library and create a space that evokes walking beneath the tree canopy and picnicking on the greens. The interior environment includes various active ‘public’ zones and private ‘quiet’ reflective spaces, aiming to bring the outdoors to the indoors.
