300 George Street - ' The One'
Brisbane’s riparian skyline is a compelling part of its appeal as a city and is balanced by the wide flowing Brisbane River that meanders the CBD. Bestowing on residents and guests both unparallel vistas and easy access to the city’s attractions and workplaces, ‘The One’ development is an opportunity for a collection of creative minds to deliver an extraordinary and iconic addition to this cityscape.
‘The One’ by Shayher Group is the third tower of the Brisbane Quarter Development, which comprises two other towers; the W Hotel and a commercial office tower.
Designed by DBI and ZENX Architects, the development graces the Brisbane River edge, and resides on the former site of the Supreme Court of Queensland. Multiplex appointed GroupGSA as Executive Architect to see through the design development, construction documentation, and construction phase of this iconic building.
The One rises an extraordinary 83 stories in total, topping out at 264m—the maximum height limitations for towers in Brisbane CBD and is the tallest tower in Brisbane’s skyline, matching Brisbane Skytower. Residents are within walking distance to all of Brisbane’s CBD attractions and social neighbourhoods, along with an array of award-winning restaurants that are already serving customers as part of the completed first stage of the development.
As Executive Architect, we collaborated with Multiplex and Shayher Group across the detailed development design and the construction methodologies and systems that will be implemented across the tower. By implementing lessons learnt at earlier stages, our team streamlined the production of documentation in the project’s later stages and minimised RFI’s and queries from construction teams on site. As a result, GroupGSA was integral to delivering the project within budget and six months ahead of schedule, reducing construction costs, minimising public disruption, and maximising resident occupancy and value for the owner.
We also provided executive services across the interior design of ‘ The One’ , and reviewed the landscape architecture intent across the residential podium recreation area.
We are proud of our continuing working relationship with Multiplex, and The One is at the pinnacle of our working history with Multiplex in Queensland.
