New design force bolsters creativity across our Australian Studios

We are excited to announce five new hires across our three Australian Studios.

Simone Carter and Sue DesBrosses have been appointed as Associate Directors of Interior Design to lead their respective Melbourne and Brisbane studios.

Their appointment bolsters our collective strength and creativity across Victoria and Queensland Interior Design Teams into a new era of growth, set to reinforce our sector expertise and further enhance our commitment to diversity of thought. Their design expertise will benefit interstate projects as they join our Interior Design Senior Leadership Team alongside Pablo Albani and Liam Higginbotham.

Simone brings more than 25 years of global experience to GroupGSA, with an interior design portfolio spanning hospitality, workplace, luxury residential and health across the UK, Middle East, China and Australia.

When asked why she choose to join GroupGSA she said “I have long admired the work of GroupGSA and am very excited to now be a part of the practice’s ongoing success story. I was attracted to its multidisciplinary approach, the incredible support network and design innovation. I am particularly looking forward to growing the Melbourne team and encouraging them to push the design boundaries, lead innovation in the industry and encourage them to approach every project through a different lens.

Also joining Simone in the Melbourne Interior Design team is Alice Were, who joins us as Senior Interior Designer.

Sue has over 20 years of commercial design experience working in some of Australia and Asia’s largest design firms.

“I’m looking forward to shaping Group GSA’s Brisbane Interiors’ team with Andrew Glover. I’ve spent the past five years working on projects in Asia so I’m keen to apply myself to design within Australia and particularly focus on Brisbane as we revitalise our city for the 2032 Olympics,” she said.

Also new to the Brisbane Studio is Marina Amado who joins as Graduate Interior Designer.

In Sydney, Clare O’Brien joins us as an Associate in our Landscape Architecture Team. Clare has over 10 years of experience across Australia and the United Kingdom.

Clare said: “I was attracted to GroupGSA because of its strong representation of women in senior roles. I am excited to get stuck into projects, learn from my already welcoming team, and create impactful places for the community”.
