The Team:

Maroubra Junction Town Centre is a bustling commercial and residential hub located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Australia. It is situated at the intersection of two major arterial roads, Anzac Parade and Maroubra Road, making it a strategic location for business and commerce. This area serves as an important link between the Sydney CBD, the Sydney International Airport, Botany Bay, and Centennial Parklands.

Maroubra Junction is conveniently located near several popular beachside areas such as Maroubra Beach, Coogee Beach, Malabar and Little Bay making it the retail destination of choice for these residents.

The Randwick City Council has recognised the need for a comprehensive and cohesive plan to guide the development and improvement of the public spaces within Maroubra Junction. The proposed Town Centre Public Domain Master Plan seeks to identify priority areas for improvement, both in the short and long-term, in order to support future strategic planning efforts for the wider Eastgardens -Maroubra Junction Strategic Centre, and support economic viability, growth and amenity of the centre.

The project to develop the Maroubra Junction Town Centre is a significant undertaking that encompasses three other neighbouring local centres: the Flower Street Neighbourhood Centre, the Bunnerong Road Neighbourhood Centre, and the two strips of Maroubra Road located west and east of Maroubra Junction.

This expansive project aims to promote economic prosperity in the local area, create high-quality public spaces, encourage housing growth and diversity, establish a strong identity and sense of place, promote design excellence, and foster sustainability.

By bringing together these four local centres, the Maroubra Junction Town Centre will become a hub of activity and a focal point for the community. The development of this area will create new opportunities for businesses, encourage economic growth, and provide residents with access to a range of services and amenities.

Furthermore, the development will prioritize sustainability, ensuring that the environment is protected and that the project has minimal impact on the surrounding area. With a strong focus on design excellence, the Maroubra Junction Town Centre will be a visually striking and aesthetically pleasing space that enhances the local community’s quality of life.
