Located on the Brisbane River at 320 MacArthur Avenue, the scheme provides 240 units in two pavilion-shaped buildings on a landscaped public plaza.
Frasers Property engaged Group GSA to design both stages of the project and prepare the development approval drawings and tender documents for each stage. Stage 1 was completed in 2018 and Stage 2 in 2021. We were novated to Watpac for stage 1 construction services and Tomkins Constructions for stage 2 construction services.
Careful placement of the buildings creates setbacks to the street, forming variation and a solid urban form at the “bookends” of the buildings. The bookend approach creates the opportunity for a series of unique apartment layouts at both ends of the buildings.
Punctuating the plaza building’s centre is the main entry, leading into a beautiful double-height space that is shaded, and cool, with open balcony meeting places.
The design of the building’s exterior draws on Hamilton Reach’s rich built and natural palette—the blue-greys of the river, earthy tones from the river’s edge, and bright, clear whites and dark greys of the built forms.
Lot 113 is the last remaining site in the highly successful Hamilton Reach masterplanned development.
