Sunshine Plaza, located at Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast, is jointly owned by APPF Retail (Lendlease managed) and GPT Group.
The centre is undergoing a A$400 million redevelopment. Upon completion, it will see the centre expand from 73,000m2 to 107,000m2 which feature new outdoor waterfront dining along Cornmeal Creek, further enhancing the ‘indoor / outdoor’ experience. The redevelopment is targeting a 5 Star Green-Star – As Built rating.
The Team:
Sunshine Plaza’s expansion includes:
- Over 34,000m2 of additional retail space
- A new David Jones Department Store, a refurbished Myer and a BIG W store
- Over 100 new specialty stores with provision for new mini majors including large format fashion operators
- Over 1,400 additional parking spaces including two new multi-level car parks, taking the total number of spaces to nearly 5,000
- New outdoor waterfront dining along Cornmeal Creek
- High-ropes course incorporating a 21-metre-high viewing deck and zip line across Cornmeal Creek.
GroupGSA was engaged by Lendlease design to assist in project
delivery. A group of GroupGSA staff specialising in retail projects were
embedded in Lendlease’s office and assisted in design development, coordination and documentation for the project
