Situated at the foot of the Blue Mountains and the banks of the Nepean River, GroupGSA, Architecture + Urban Design, is engaged to provide strategic input and a new vision for the existing Edinglassie retirement village. They have progressed the early feasibility and master-planning process through to development application.
As part of the vision, the new masterplan will integrate the existing residential aged care facility and heritage church building, and provide 100+ new independent living units for new residents.
Focused around a well-considered landscape setting, the masterplan aims to foster an active and engaging lifestyle for its residents. The revitalised village includes a community centre as a hub for social activities, such as group gatherings, fitness classes, educational workshops, and hobby clubs. There are also dedicated spaces for recreational activities, such as walking trails, communal gardens, and outdoor seating areas where residents can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and connect with nature.
