The school is a key initiative under the School Infrastructure NSW Pilot Program designed to address NSW's growing demand for educational facilities. Completed in stages from July 2020 to March 2024, the school provides up-to-date facilities for up to 600 students.

The design features a tall roof with generous overhangs that define the main entrance, seamlessly connecting learning buildings through covered walkways and verandas. The architecture thoughtfully incorporates elements inspired by the local environment, especially considering the significant Aboriginal student population. Interior finishes, colours, and furniture were selected in collaboration with the local community, reflecting the natural tones of rocks, rivers, vegetation, and earth. These elements extend into the landscaping, where native plants and organic forms create a harmonious connection between the school and its surroundings.

Organic forms can also be seen in the solar shading which adorns the street-facing elevations and appears to reference leaves abstractly.
