GroupGSA’s multidisciplinary team worked together to transform what once was an old Masters warehouse into a lively office and chambers space for the Mid Coast Council in Taree.

The warehouse was fully upgraded and changed from a Class 6 to a Class 5 building. Paying homage to the industrial bones of the building, much of the existing structure was kept exposed and celebrated as part of the design concept.

The Group
Client: Mid Coast Council
Studios: Sydney, Australia
Key Facts:
  • 6,500sqm
  • Repourposed industrial building
The Team:

Concrete slabs and steel structures were maintained, while the interior interventions were kept light and intentional to ensure a harmonious fusion between existing and new. To support the local community there is a host of specialty spaces ranging from an art gallery to a large community garden space. The entire front of house area can be transformed to support large chambers meetings and events.

"Thanks GroupGSA for working with us to discover, develop and ultimately deliver on the vision for this project."

“It’s a great space and the payback has been immediate.”

Robert Scott – Director Infrastructure & Engineering Services at Mid Coast Council
