Townsville Airport and Queensland Airports Ltd engaged our Brisbane office for this project, which included check-in, security screening, and vertical transport.
The terminal redevelopment, executed as a series of coordinated projects, is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the passenger experience. It increases terminal capacity, improves operating efficiency, and mitigates safety risks. It paves the way for future domestic and international passenger growth, while expanding the commercial retail and food and beverage offerings, benefiting the local community and potential passengers.
We have worked towards a design outcome unique to Townsville using local materials, products, and suppliers. In 2019, we developed a detailed master plan for the overall terminal with Townsville Airport (TAPL).
Since then, our progress has been significant. We have successfully upgraded the check-in facilities and introduced new security screening measures as part of the Regional Airport Security Infrastructure upgrade. This includes the recent vertical transport upgrade work, which saw the installation of new escalators and a stairway to the departure’s mezzanine concourse, marking a significant step forward in the project.
